Lucy, this is such a great question that I decided to answer it in an article at Yellow Nails – How to Remove Nail Polish Properly.

I have a question that’s been bugging me. I have semi-stained nails, they’re not as yellow as the one you’ve posted but if you place my nail next to someone else’s nails who hasn’t used nail polish, there’s a clear difference that hers is whiter. One of my friend has told me that I should be letting my nails ‘regrow’ so the yellow will go away…? So I should stay away from any nail polish until the nail regrows and it is back to its normal state. Does this work and is this true? I’m very confused?
I’ve also tried everything to get rid of the remaining stain…. from lemons to whitening toothpaste to whitening cleanser and nothing seems to work?!

Thanks
Arlene

Hi Anne, thanks for stopping by and commenting. Make sure to check out my article about properly removing polish, incase you are inadvertently driving the pigments into the surface of your nails as you’re removing the polish. Sometimes, there are just some pigments that are destined to stain no matter what you do. It’s the curse of the obsession. 😀 PS: You’re going to love Bliss Kiss™ Simply Smooth™ ridge filling base coat. <3 ~Ana

I’ve been having problems with staining lately. Sounds like I just need to keep trying different base coats to see which one is ‘the one’ for me. I recently purchased the one you sell, so hopefully that will be the one!! 😀

Thank you for all of the great information!! I appreciate you taking the time to blog about this!! I am always doing my nails because of the line of work that I do. I try to maintain a healthy looking appearance and sometimes after removing polish, my nails are stained. I do not always like painting my nails, I appreciate the more natural look and it’s embarrassing when I have yellow nails.
Thank you again for all the information!!!! 🙂

Dear Karen,
At first your comment startled me, but it prompted me to re-read the entire article.

And you’re 100% correct. I did not circle back to answer the question. Many times a lot of background and options need to be addressed around a topic, because there’s rarely a simple black or white answer. Some articles are written over several days as I work on them amidst all of my other business responsibilities.

Please realize that I am a mom of 4 children and building a business to support my family. I’m not a machine spitting out content that makes no sense just to get ranked in Google. I’m a real person who deserves kindness. Please think about that the next time you comment on a blogger’s article. There are kinder ways to get your point across.

I will fix this article with my recommendations, which are just my opinion. My readers always have the option to make their own decisions with their wallets. Thank you. ~Ana
